Born in Freehold Township, New Jersey, Erik graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and trained at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City . During college, he spent four summers performing with the Elm Shakespeare Company in New Haven, showcasing his stage chops . He moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to pursue acting full-time .
